PHONi – Preamplifier/equaliser for record players

PHONi is an equaliser preamplifier for record playback with an equalisation curve according to RIAA (DIN 45 541) in stereo design. Both MM (moving magnet) and MC (moving coil) cartridges can be used, whereby the amplification is switched by means of a toggle switch. All inputs and outputs of the audio signals are designed as RCA sockets. A switchable rumble filter has been integrated to suppress disruptive low-frequency noise (sub-bass). The filter is switched on and off silently, even during operation. A plug-in power supply unit with a lockable hollow plug is used for the power supply.

PHONi was developed to enable high-quality, interference-free equalisation of mobile and stationary pickups without the need for large equipment. The electronic development of the PHONi comes from the pen of Pro Audio designer Roger Schult.
